These from the Knossos site and the archeological museum in Heraklion.
This was a bucket list trip for a ‘big birthday’. With famalam including kids 2 & 3. We went during the October half term so variable weather but not overwhelmed by tourists. I can’t imagine getting a picture at the site without a thousand other humans in shot during high season.

As a kid I read the Larouse Encyclopaedia of Mythology and had a deep love for the myths of the Minoans. Years later (around 1999/2000) I visited Santorini to see Akrotiri and the incredible artefacts and murals. Knossos was the largest site of the Minoan culture. The palace is literally the labyrinthine structure from the Minotaur story. Truly a magical site.
